A password change is performed when you already know your current login credentials and are actively logged in. This is standard digital hygiene recommended after a data exposure notice, routine security audits, or when updating credentials stored in a password manager.

Log into the platform using your existing credentials on desktop or mobile.
Click on your Profile icon, Avatar, or Gear icon in the navigation bar.
Select Settings, Account Settings, or Manage Account.
Locate and click the Security or Sign-in & security tab.
Look for the section labeled Password or Change Password and select it.
Verification: A dedicated credential update form opens displaying input fields for verification and replacement.
To prevent an unattended session from being hijacked, platforms demand proof of ownership before allowing a password replacement:
Enter your Current Password (or Old Password) into the top verification field.
If two-factor authentication (2FA) is active on the account, complete the additional security prompt (authenticator code or security key) if requested.
Verification: If the current password was entered correctly, the field remains valid without returning an "Incorrect password" alert.
Enter your chosen replacement string into the New Password field.
Retype the string in the Confirm New Password field to eliminate accidental typos.
Click Update Password or Save Changes.
Verification: A confirmation toast or notification appears reading "Your password has been changed." You will receive an immediate security confirmation email alerting you that the account's password was updated.
