Navigate to your device's application manager to view installed apps and their local storage usage.

Open the Settings app on your Android device.
Scroll down and select Apps (or Apps & notifications / Applications, depending on your device manufacturer).
Tap See all apps if prompted, to view the complete list of installed applications.
Verification: You should see an alphabetical list of all user-installed and system apps.
Locate the specific app that is running slowly, failing to load assets, or taking up significant disk space (such as social media or streaming apps).
Tap on the target application name to open its App info dashboard.
Select Storage & cache (or Storage on Samsung One UI devices).
Verification: The screen breaks down storage consumption across four fields: App size, User data, Cache, and Total.
Android gives you two distinct cleanup options: Clear cache and Clear storage (or Clear data).
Tap the Clear cache button (indicated by a broom or trash can icon).
Do not tap "Clear storage" / "Clear data" unless you intend to reset the app completely; doing so logs you out, removes local offline databases, and resets your settings.
Verification: The numeric value next to Cache immediately drops to 0 B (or a few kilobytes), and the "Clear cache" button becomes greyed out.
You can bypass the system settings menu entirely for faster maintenance on modern Android versions:
Go to your phone’s home screen or app drawer.
Long-press the icon of the app you want to clear.
Tap the App info button (the small circle with an "i" inside).
Tap Storage & cache > Clear cache.
Verification: Open the app; it will launch cleanly and gradually rebuild necessary cache files as you browse.
