Setting up your official @chiox.net email on a third-party mail application allows you to manage your messages efficiently from your desktop, laptop, or mobile device. This guide provides a step-by-step overview to help you configure popular email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and mobile email apps.
Make sure you have the following information ready:
✔ Your official email address
✔ Your email password
✔ Incoming mail server (IMAP) details
✔ Outgoing mail server (SMTP) details
If you haven’t received these credentials yet, please contact ChiOX Technical Support.
We recommend using IMAP instead of POP3 because:
IMAP syncs emails across all your devices
Sent and received messages stay updated
No data loss if your device is damaged or replaced
Using IMAP ensures seamless email access whether you are working from office, home, or mobile.
Open Outlook
Go to File → Add Account
Enter your name, email address, and password
Choose IMAP
Enter server details:
Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.chiox.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.chiox.net
Use the recommended ports:
IMAP Port: 993 (SSL)
SMTP Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
Click Next
Wait for Outlook to verify credentials, then click Finish
Your ChiOX mailbox will now display in Outlook.
Open Thunderbird
Click Email under “Set up an account”
Enter your name, email address, and password
Click Continue
Choose IMAP
Enter the following manually if required:
Incoming: imap.chiox.net | Port: 993 | SSL
Outgoing: smtp.chiox.net | Port: 465 or 587 | SSL/TLS
Click Done
Thunderbird will automatically synchronize your folders and emails.
Open the Gmail app
Go to Settings → Add account
Choose Other
Enter your email address
Select IMAP
Enter:
IMAP server: imap.chiox.net
SMTP server: smtp.chiox.net
Use recommended security settings:
SSL Enabled
IMAP Port 993
SMTP Port 465 or 587
Enter your password and click Next
Go to Settings → Mail → Accounts
Tap Add Account
Choose Other
Select Add Mail Account
Enter name, email, password
Choose IMAP
Enter:
Host Name (Incoming): imap.chiox.net
Host Name (Outgoing): smtp.chiox.net
Save and verify
Your inbox should load automatically.
Make sure caps lock is off
Request a password reset from IT support
Check SMTP port (465 or 587 must be enabled)
Enable authentication on outgoing server
Accept the certificate once
Ensure you’re using imap.chiox.net and smtp.chiox.net exactly
✔ Always enable SSL/TLS encryption
✔ Never share your password with anyone
✔ Use a strong password with symbols, numbers, and uppercase characters
✔ Change your password every 90 days
