How to Allow Camera Permission and Notification Permission

How to Allow Camera Permission

Camera permissions regulate when an application can access your device's physical front or rear lenses. Operating systems block this hardware access by default until explicitly enabled by the user to protect privacy.

Method A: Enable Camera Permission on Android

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.

  2. Scroll down and tap Apps (or Apps & notifications).

  3. Select the app you want to give camera access to (tap See all apps if it is not immediately visible).

  4. Tap Permissions.

  5. Under the Not allowed section, tap Camera.

  6. Select Allow only while using the app or Ask every time.

  7. Verification: Open the target app and launch its camera tool or video call feature; the viewfinder should display the camera feed without a permission prompt.

Method B: Enable Camera Permission on iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Scroll down through the app list and tap the specific app (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, or Zoom).

  3. Under the Allow [App Name] to Access section, find Camera.

  4. Toggle the switch to the On (green) position.

  5. Verification: Launch the app, switch to a camera mode, and verify that the video input appears immediately. An orange or green indicator dot will appear in your dynamic island or status bar when the camera is active.

How to Allow Notification Permission

Notification permissions allow apps to deliver real-time push alerts, messaging updates, breaking news, and reminders to your device's lock screen, banner feed, and notification center.

Method A: Enable Notification Permission on Android

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Apps > select the app you want to receive alerts from.

  3. Tap Notifications (or App notifications).

  4. Toggle the All [App Name] notifications switch to On.

  5. Configure specific notification channels:

  6. Verification: Send a test trigger (such as sending a message to yourself from another device); the alert should appear in the top notification tray.

Method B: Enable Notification Permission on iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap Notifications.

  3. Scroll through the Notification Style list and tap the app you wish to configure.

  4. Toggle the top switch next to Allow Notifications to the On (green) position.

  5. Select your alert destinations:

  6. Verification: Lock the iPhone and trigger an action in the app; the banner and lock screen card will appear with sound.
